tauntchime

noun

A sound played when shutting down, locking, or putting into standby a computer or gadget, that reminds the user that they have forgotten to mute the device.

Ugh, I hate the Windows shutdown sound when I turn off my laptop. It’s such a tauntchime; now I have to turn the thing back on to mute it or when I turn it on later I’ll have aural leakage.
