An expression of support for a display of interest in a hobby.

As Channah crossed paths with a stranger on the sidewalk, she noticed his Firefly t-shirt. “Rapportico!” she said, pointing at it. The man smiled and nodded at her as they each went their ways. It was always nice to meet fellow Browncoats.

achronact

verb

To do things in an incorrect order.

As Brigid started chewing a fresh stick of gum, she reached for the coffeepot to pour herself a cup. She realized she had achronacted and the gum would now be wasted.

dishoverate

verb

To get ready to go out in public in a way that is less thorough than usual but also much faster.

Wait, we have to be there by when? Okay, jeez, I don’t have time to shower; I’ll have to dishoverate. I’ll just put on some fresh clothes and deodorant and wear a hat.

The state of knowing intellectually that something must be true, but still not being comfortable without visual proof.

Kathleen knew for a fact that her roommate was out of town and she had the apartment to herself, but her skeptivision compelled her to check every room and make sure they were all empty before she allowed herself to blast the Rent soundtrack and sing along.

An invented term, word, or phrase that does not catch on but which the inventor tries to force to catch on through repeated use.

Dan! Stop saying ‘pushologism!’ No one else wants to say that - you’re just turning it into a pushologism! …dammit!

A state of wanting to experience something specific but being unwilling to admit it and therefore attempting to force a randomizing function to provide it.

Mhairi absently hit the next button on her mp3 player, over and over, randomly cycling through her songs. Her shuffle denial prevented her from simply selecting the Celine Dion album she actually wanted to listen to.

A song that is heard poorly, resulting in the brain incorrectly filling in the gaps with different rhythm or instrumentation.

Chelsea could hear, somewhere in the office, someone playing a song that she recognized must be “Inside Out” by Eve 6. But it was so muted and distant that her mind turned it into a ska mondeblue.

The accidental use of a word that, while incorrect, is more awesome than the intended word.

While describing the company’s network architecture, Coleman was startled by a sudden noise, leading to the bonapropism of claiming to connect through a Virtual Private Jesus.

talking drool

Evading a question by simply drooling in response.

Man, I hate interviewing politicians from the Uncomfortable Silences Party. Ask them something they don’t like, and they’ll just talk drool. It’s gross.

An expression both of desire for the listener’s success and confidence in the listener’s ability to attain it.
